Queen Victoria Clergy Fund
The Queen Victoria Clergy Sustentation Fund received its royal charter in 1897 as a philanthropic association for the relief of clerical poverty; it was the brain-child of Richard Foster, a London layman. Through the efforts of Earl Nelson and Earl Stamford, it became the Church's commemoration of the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria and benefitted from its Jubilee appeal.
