Boxing Day, December 26th, 1918.

We walked in the Parks, and then Frank and I called on Raleigh – a distressing experience. The dear fellow was in bed and seemed barely conscious of our presence. The Dean of Ch. Ch. came to lunch, & was very humorous & friendly. Then Selby Bigge came, & we (Frank, he, & I) walked along the towing path. We admired a fine sunset. Ella & I had tea with Arthur Johnson & his wife. Later we all walked to Christ Church, and dined with the Headlams. The Dean was there, & Archdeacon Archer–Houblon with his sister. A pleasant party.
