592nd day

At last a spring morning, bright & fresh, with a 'lift' in the air, as of a dancing child. The rooks uproarious & expansive. More musical birds at their anthems. Ella & Ernest went off after breakfast, the one to Newcastle, the other to Edinburgh. I had an interrupted morning at sermon–production for Sunday.

I celebrated the Holy Communion at 8 a.m., and attended Evensong. Also I had a too–brief walk with Cruickshank after lunch. The mildness of the air suggested May rather than March.
