180th day

Ralph went off by the 12.29 noon train. I attended both Mattins & Evensong. A feeble looking parson named Griffin had the temerity to call on me to ask me to move the Crown to appoint him to the living of S. Jude, South Shields, which he now serves as a curate. I 'bit his head off'. Could I at any time of my career have done such a thing? Honestly, I think not.
