67th day
I worked at the Kikuyu Lecture for Manchester. My morning was broken by a visit from Gee & the Mayor–elect, asking me to allow the Mayoral Service on Sunday, the 15th Nov., & to preach the sermon. I attended Evensong in the Cathedral: Ella came home from London. Old Victor Williamson called at tea–time. I gave him a copy of the Government's wonderful pennyworth, which he seemed quite pleased to get. Antwerp is evidently in extremis. The German artillery is overwhelming.
