The “Times” publishes my letter to the Bishop of Kensington declining for reasons stated to join his "clergy protest" against Forcible Feeding. In the "Guardian" and the "Record" appears my letter headed "Quo tendimus?" with reference to the recent missionary conference in East Africa.

After lunch I walked with the two boys as far as the battle–field of Neville's Cross.

Then I went to Stock's lecture on Printed Books before 1500, and went on to the Town Hall, where I gave certificates to the boys of the Johnston School, and made a speech. The new Mayor was there, & moved a vote of thanks to me very flatterously.
