3rd Sunday after Easter, May 7th, 1911.

~~Thus God framed this great Organ of the world, he turned it, yet not so as that it could play upon itself, or make any musick by virtue of this general composure,… but that it might be fitted, and prepared for the finger of God himself, & at the presence of his powerful touch might sound forth the praise of its Creator, in a most sweet, & harmonious manner.~~

A brilliant morning. Westlake celebrated at 8 a.m. I assisted. There were 33 comts. At Mattins there was a large congregation. Gow read the Lessons: I preached: the Dean gave the Blessing, & pronounced the Absolution in the Communion Service. The King's Scholars came to the Communion. I celebrated.

Mr & Mrs Acland–Allan, & Mr & Mrs Johnson came to lunch.

There was a large congregation at Evensong, including the Abp. of Canterbury & Mrs Davidson.

Dr Forrest & a friend, Miss Nepean, Baddeley, the tall schoolmaster, Westlake, Harold, & Gilbert came to supper.
