~~'We are Protestants, not from indifference, but from zeal'~~
Edmund Burke. 'Reflections'
I attended the Installation of Bishop Ryle as Dean of Westr, and, afterwards, had tea in the Jericho Parlour.
Mitford Mitchell, Canon & Mrs Bell, Mr & Mrs Arnold Lupton, & Miss Graham dined here.
All this week I have worked at my "Robert Lee" lecture, and I have written a good deal, not very successfully. Now I am fidgetty about its ultimate fate. The ownership of the Lecture is with the Trustees; & they publish it: but the aspect of the published lectures is more squalid than I like.
