Ash Wednesday, February 8th [9th], 1910.
Sharp frost. I went to S. Margaret's at 8 a.m. and celebrated the Holy Comn. There were just 12 cts including Sir Hy Graham. At 11 a.m. I read the Commination Service, and listened to an excellent sermon from Compston.
I went to the Westminster Chapel, and took part in the Funeral Service for Mrs Wright. I read the Lesson from the Prayerbook.
Then I went to Evensong in the Abbey, & preached on Isaiah 58.4–7.
At 6 p.m. I had my Confirmation Class: and at 8 p.m. Evensong in S. Margaret's. Knox preached more incoherently than ever.
On Friday afternoon, Feb: 11th, I preached in Lincoln's Inn Chapel.
