In the "Times" today appeared Gore's letter to me, & mine to him. The 'Westminster Gazette' made some comments favourable to me. I received two offensive letters.
Dr Mitford Mitchell called on me. He says that Nathan Williamson is to succeed Cameron Lees at S. Giles'.
Sir Robert Hudson came to see me: & we talked on politics for more than an hour.
I dined with Sidney Buxton at the House. Mackinnon Wood, Hilaire Belloc, Tennant, Denman, & another made up the party.
