Bishop Lawrence came with me to the meeting of Congregationalist Ministers, which addressed for 3/4 of an hour on "Christian Socialism". They were more in sympathy with my attitude than I expected: certainly more so than would have been the case in England.
Then I lunched with Dr Councilman & a party of doctors at the S. Botolph's Club, where we discussed the psycho–therapeutic movement very frankly. I gather that the general attitude of the medical faculty is hostile. We were shown the splendid new Medical School: after seeing which we bade farewell to Boston, & went to Cambridge to stay with the Kellmans.
We dined with the Ep. Twenty Club. Seabody of Groton presided. Dean Hodges read a paper on 'Expectations of Immortality'.
