Tuesday, July 21st, 1908.

A note from Mrs Coomb–Tennant told me that their child died this morning unexpectedly. It was but 18 months old, & beautiful as an angel. I went round to 5 Sloane Court, and prayed with them.

Then I married a young engineer in S. Margaret's. Later I married a fine young soldier – Joseph Aloysius Byrne – to Marjorie Maud Joseph.

The Bishops of Massachusetts and Ohio came to see me, & talked pleasantly for a while.

Walter Smith arrived on a visit.
