A beautiful day after the rain, and everything looking lovely when, breakfast ended, we bade affectionate farewell to our kind friends at Broadmeadows, and moved on for the next stage of our visit. We arrived in Edinburgh soon after noon, and having first disposed our luggage at the new Caledonian Railway station, had lunch in the Edinburgh Café, and then chartered a carriage, and drove to Rosslin, about 7 miles out of the city, in order to see the far–famed chapel. It is amazingly beautiful, and set in a fair framework of beautiful country. Returning to the station we had tea, and proceeded to Crieff. The railway journey took just 2 hours. We found assembled at Ochtertyre House a party of various interest. Dr Milligan, Mr Stewart, Mr Pringle–Nichol, a Japanese, & divers ladies besides our hostess, Mrs Glassford–Bell.
