Sunday after Ascension, May 27th, 1906.
A dull and dripping day to start with. I went to S. Margaret's at 8 a.m. and celebrated. There were 21 communicants.
At 11 a.m. there was a large congregation, and the Offertory exceeded £18. I preached from S. John VI. 63. Ella's Canadian cousins were in church, and came to lunch.
I preached at Evensong to a fair congregation considering the rain.
