25th Sunday after Trinity, November 20th, 1904.

I did not get out to the early service, being embarrassed & handicapped by a cold.

At Mattins I preached on "The Authority of the Past" Heb: xii.1. Alfred Lyttelton, Henry Graham, & Craig were in the congregation. At Evensong I preached on 'Youth', Eccl: xii.1, & in the course of my sermon quoted some verses of Beeching, who happened to be in Church! The Offertories of the day exceeded £21.
