Friday, October 14th, 1904.

This has been an ill-spent day. I started a sermon, & then called on Beeching, who gave me a copy of the volume of Ainger's Sermons he has edited. I walked the Embankment as usual, & read a novel "The terrible Tsar". In the evening there was a meeting of the Guild.
