S. Edward's Day, Thursday, October 13th, 1904.

I received the Blessed Sacrament at S. Edward's Altar.

In the course of the morning, I, passing thro' the Abbey, fell in with two mariners, & acted as their guide.

I called on Fedarb & had some speech with him.

I attended Evensong, & listened to rather a dull sermon from Rashdall.

Beeching & I walked the length of the Embankment, & returned.

I wrote a letter to the Times, entitled, "Disestablishment & Religious Education".
