St Andrew's church, South Church, Bishop Auckland is situated about a mile from the town centre and is the largest parish church in Co. Durham. It was built in the last decade of the thirteenth century and endowed as a college by Bishop Bek; described by Pevsner as a 'harmonious whole'.
