Robert Bosanquet (1871-1935; ODNB), archaeologist; excavated Housesteads Roman fort for the Newcastle Society of Antiquaries, 1898; director of the British School at Athens, 1900-05; inherited the ancestral estate of Rock Hall, Northumberland, 1905; professor of classical archaeology, University of Liverpool, 1906-20; eldest brother of the philosopher, Bernard Bosanquet.
