Maundy Thursday, April 2nd, 1931.

Beyond my correspondence, and some desultory reading, I did nothing, and finally had to retire to bed without dinner. For the heavy cold which has burdened me for the last few days, now seemed to be taking a graver form, so that the cowardly course of prudence commanded itself irresistibly by the full argument of physical weakness.
