Tuesday, August 19th, 1924.

I spent the morning in rather fruitless work on the Charge: played bowls with Ernest after lunch: & returned to the Charge after tea. Clayton put in an appearance about 6 p.m., & appeared well–pleased with his performances in Scotland. The weather was bright, but autumnal.
