I dedicated the War Memorial at Castle Eden. Before the function we (Ella, Clayton & I) lunched with the Burdons. Lord Durham was there, and afterwards unveiled the Cross, & made a speech. The weather was bitterly cold. At tea–time the Headlams arrived on a short visit. I had a good deal of talk with him.
