4th Sunday after Trinity, June 27th, 1920.

A calm wet day, rather depressing. I stayed indoors, spending the morning in writing some indispensable letters, and the afternoon in reading the last volume of Disraeli's 'Life'. The Dean & Mrs Waterfield called to inquire after me, and were both very affectionate & solicitous. The Archdeacon went to Ross to dedicate the War Memorial in my stead: and Fearne went to Bristol to undergo some requisite operation in a nursing home.
