Friday, June 25th, 1920.
I told Maish that he might hold office until Christmas: and Ernest Alexander, the butler, that I would take him into my service.
After lunch we left the Castle, and travelled from Barnard Castle, via Teebay, Preston, & Crewe to Rode Hall, where we passed the night under the ever–hospitable roof of our friends the Baker–Wilbrahams.
