2nd Sunday after Trinity, June 13th, 1920.
I did get up, but found myself unequal to my will, & sent for the doctor. James kindly took out a note to Bromfield explaining my situation. It was the more unfortunate since the Patron, Lord Plymouth, had come up specially to make my acquaintance. Then I retired to bed, & lay miserably perdu for the rest of the day.
George Nimmins, who arrived from Durham last night, went to Bromfield with James. William, who told me yesterday that he wanted to accompany me to Durham, drove the Dean to Pencoyd for an evening engagement.
