I tried to prepare a "charge" for the Ordination candidates. After lunch I walked with Cruickshank over Dynedor. Then the candidates arrived. At 6 p.m. the Dean was instituted in the Chapel. I read papers: he took the oaths &c: I pronounced the Benediction.
The Archdeacon of Hereford gave an address at Evensong in the chapel; the 'Veni Creator' was first sung, and afterwards Ridding's Litany.
