Another dropping day, very languid and depressing. It is more like Sierra Leone than England! The presence of guests in the house is not favourable to work. In effect another day has slipped away without effective work. I showed the Headlams the parish churches, & walked with Headlam after lunch. I presided over a meeting of the Diocesan Conference Committee. Ernest arrived. The Lilleys came to dinner.
