Tuesday, April 8th, 1919.

I revised my sermon in the Athenaeum, and preached it at S. Paul's Covent Garden, to a large congregation. My head was aching so badly that I preached with difficulty. After the sermon I returned to the Hotel, picked up my bags, & went to Paddington, where I caught the 3 p.m. train to Hereford. After dinners [sic] I saw the doctor, and did my letters to Wynne–Willson.
