Monday, January 27th, 1919.
Marvellously beautiful was the sunrising which was, however, as deceptive as it was lovely, and, before the day had grown to noontide, the snow & sleet were coming down in wintry fashion.
I made a frantic clearance of my study–table, and then had a conference with the Archdeacons, who stayed to lunch. We all attended a meeting of the Poor Benefices Augmentation Assn ; & then I had an interview with Buckingham. After he had gone I sawed wood until tea–time, after which I did my letters with Wynne–Willson.
