1530th day

We left Hereford by the early train, & travelled to London. Simon & his wife got in to our compartment. He spoke very interestingly of his experiences in France. Lord Grey's speech last night on the League of Nations is generally applauded. I lunched with Firth at the Athenaeum, and afterwards went with Ella to Canterbury. We were warmly welcomed by our kind hosts; & Ruth played divinely after dinner.
