1503rd day

I worked more uselessly than ever at the Lecture. After lunch I motored with Lilley to Bishop's Castle, and there met the clergy of the Rural Deanery. There were present beside the Archdeacon & the Rural dean (Rev. C. E. Warner) the following:–

  1. Revd A. Hawken, Rector of Lydham
  2. " W. E. Glenn, Rector of Mainstone
  3. " J. G. Hughes, Rector of Myndtown
  4. " E. H. G. de Castro Vicar of Sibdon
  5. " W. M. D. La Touche, Rector of Wistanston

We discussed the Franchise, and the relation of Anglicans & Nonconformists. On the first, there was unanimity for the Baptismal Franchise. On the last, no clear idea.

We returned to Hereford at a speed of about 28 miles an hour, a good record for my rather deliberate car. There were occasional showers, but nothing serious.
