1502nd day

I worked at the lecture, but to small purpose. Archdeacon Winnington–Ingram came in to see me, & wasted an hour. After lunch I motored my whole party (Ella, Kitty, Linetta, & the two children) to Kilpeck and Abbey Dore. They form a brace of architectural gems which could not be excelled in any, & could be equalled in hardly any English diocese. I found the Vicars at home – Reeder & Cave Moyle. Lilley came to see me. After dinner I read Lloyd–George's great speech in Manchester last night. It is a very remarkable achievement.
