1493rd day
A pouring wet day from start to finish with perhaps two hours interval in the afternoon. Mr Wright and the Archdeacon of Essex successively wasted my morning by sitting in my study and talking about the Diocesan Board of Finance. Griffith–Jones lunched here, and then went with me in the motor to Almeley, where we inspected the Church and Vicarage, and had tea with Mr Collett–Mason. On the whole I think G–J was attracted by what he saw. Later he dined with us.
