Ella and I went to the Cathedral at 8 a.m., & received the Holy Communion. At 11.30 a.m. the Enthronement took place. It seemed to be a successful function, and the short address which I gave from the chancel step was appreciated. At 2.45 p.m. I received an address from the Mayor & Corporation: and this was followed by a reception. After these functions I returned to the Deanery very tired.
