1242nd day

The weather is becoming milder. Rain replaces snow. Two sectaries, a Congregationalist, Hooper, & a Wesleyan, Fletcher, respectively the President & the Secretary of the local organisation of sectaries, came to see me at my request in order to consider the service in the Cathedral on Jan. 6th We agreed that the sectarian ministers shd be invited to walk in the procession, and that the particular sectaries, Hooper & Fletcher shd read the lessons!

I carried my guests (i.e. the Pembers) to Lumley, where we lunched with Lady L. and saw the house. An American, McClure Robinson, was there.
