My 'post' contains several letters, referring to my "Times" letter. Watson sends a note of approval from Christ Church. I have also a violently abusive letter from a "Catholick".
Ker went through the letters selected as worthy of being used: & then plucked from the book shelf a volume of Milton's Prose Works, & read aloud the truly amazing invocation with which the treatise "Of Reformation in England" concludes. I had never realized before its Titanic power. Miss Fogg–Eliot fetched away the Professor in a cart at noon. I attended Evensong.
