Ernest went away by the 8.20 a.m. express, after staying here for 4 weeks short of one day, mostly in bed!
I paid into my account £403.2.8 of which £300 was placed on deposit; attended Mattins and Evensong & wrote many letters.
Lord Cromer's death is reported. I read the long obituary notice in the 'Times' aloud to Ella after dinner. He was a strong, serviceable man, & has left great achievements to perpetuate his memory.
