583rd day

Still the snow. I received the Holy Communion at 8 a.m., and attended the service at 10 a.m. when we accumulated Mattins, Litany, & Commination. The weather was too unfavourable for walking, so I kept [^to^] the house between the services, and cleared off letters. I attended Evensong, and also the special Lenten service, at which the Precentor preached. After dinner four of the officers came to the house, & played billiards.
