4th Sunday after Epiphany, January 30th, 1916.

545th day

I attended the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. & received the Sacrament. Budworth was the Celebrant. Then I preached to the soldiers at 10 a.m., taking the Robertson centenary as my subject. At Mattins I installed Macdonald as an honorary Canon, and after wards walked with him. After lunch I wrote letters to the Bishop of Durham and Carissima. After Evensong, Cruickshank & his wife came in to tea, Knowling & his niece, & Mrs Lowe. Then I wrote a number of letters.
