I occupied most of the day with making notes from the volumes of extinct (yet ever living) controversy, published by the Parker Society. The object in view is to frame a statement, adequately supported, of the English Reformation as it was understood by the generation which carried it through. What was the contemporanea exposito of the Anglican standards?
