A heavy thunderous day, which I wasted altogether. In the afternoon I attended Evensong & listened to a sermon by the Bishop of Jarrow addressed to a cathedral full of women, members of the Mothers' Union. Later, I dined with the judges, Ridley and Rowlatt, at the Castle.
