259th day

A most unpleasing day with an easterly wind, bad for the temper. I wasted my time, or had it wasted for me. After lunch I shewed James & Kathleen over the Castle: & then attended Evensong. Then I shewed Mrs Lyon, Hugh's mother, over the Cathedral. She is a little yellowish Anglo–Indian woman, with a strong resemblance to her son.
