Saturday, April 10th, 1915.

The wind has fallen at last, & the weather is beautiful. Dicey took his departure after breakfast. He talked to the last. There is a certain relief in bringing his visit to an end: but he made himself very agreeable, & everybody felt drawn to him. His voracity in reading moves one's envy. I put him on to some pieces of Dean Swift, which he had never seen: he was delighted with them. I took Ruth into the Cathedral, and shewed her the building. Her wretched cough makes everything tiresome. After a short walk with Logic, I attended Evensong.
