I received, corrected, & returned the proof of the Edinboro' Article. Then I prepared a short address on John Wilson for use at his funeral tomorrow. Then Hopper called to report his father's death, & to ask that the choir might sing at his funeral on Sunday. I assented, & promised to officiate myself. After lunch I walked with Logic round the wood, & was overtaken by a snow–storm.

Foakes–Jackson & Ker arrived: the latter had forgotten to change at Darlington, & been carried on to Newcastle. Hence he arrived about 10 p.m.
