Monday, January 4th, 1915.

I entertained the choir men at dinner. They were all present together with Quirk, Knowling, & Lillingston, and the four minor canons. Dinner was at 7.30 p.m., and the company dispersed shortly before 11 p.m. After the proceedings in the dining room the men sang glees in the drawing–room, & two anthems in the chapel. The acoustic qualities of the latter are surprisingly good.
