96th day

I presided at a Chapter meeting. We appointed Cook to Spennymoor: and Kearney to South Shields, S. Stephen's. The Chapter agreed to removing the standards in front of the Altar, & substituting light from the walls. In the afternoon we motored to Wynyard in order to spend the week–end with the Londonderrys. On the way we stopped at Sedgefield, & called on Mrs Derry. She & the Archdeacon dined at Wynyard. The company also included Lord & Lady Boyne, both very pleasant especially the last.
