44th day
A wet night leading in a wet & chilly day. I laboured at a sermon on "Christianity & War", but without much success. A letter arrived from the Abp of Canterbury's Chaplain, enclosing a copy of an answer to the Appeal of the German Theologians, & asking me to send a telegram saying whether I would sign it. I wired affirmatively.
