Thursday, December 11th, 1913.

I attended the Bishop in the Galilee where a miserable little function was performed, by which a malefactor–parson named Greenwood was deposed & degraded from his Orders.

Then I presided at a meeting of the Choir–School Committee in the Chapter House. We decided to continue the combination of a Minor Canonry with the Mastership of the Choir school, & to advertise accordingly.

I corrected proofs of the little volume of sermons which Hugh Rees is publishing for me.

I attended Evensong in the Cathedral.

Stafford Northcote of St Andrew's, Westminster, came to stay the night. Mrs Hodgson Fowler, Miss Headlam, & Knowling came to dinner.
