Saturday, May 31st, 1913.

After the thunder of last night the air was cooler, but there is much electricity in the atmosphere, & during the afternoon there was heavy rain, in which Logic and I were caught.

I attended a special meeting of the Sherburn Governors. We agreed to ask the Charity Commission to sanction a retiring allowance for the Master of £500 per annum.

A party of "The Workers' Education Association" visited the Cathedral about 6 p.m. I spoke a few words to them, & then handed them over to Freeman to be shown round.
