S. Mark's Day, April 25th, 1913.

I celebrated the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. There were nine clergy who communicated, and eight women.

Cruickshank came to talk over the proceedings at tomorrow's chapter. He is evidently apprehensive of difficulty.

At midday I received a letter from Mrs Sewell (better known to my recollection as 'the lady Hypatia') telling me that her uncle my old friend Marsden, died yesterday.

After lunch I fetched Knowling for a walk; on the way we picked up Tucker, and lost Logic, who however, found his way back by himself.
